The 37K at the Razorback Run is one of those races that feels properly alpine from the moment it begins. The course climbs quickly out of Harrietville before reaching the Razorback ridgeline and heading toward Mount Feathertop. With 37.7km and just over 2,000m of elevation gain, the race is relentless but incredibly rewarding. The ridge running is a real highlight — exposed, technical in places, and surrounded by huge views across the Victorian Alps. Reaching the summit of Mt Feathertop mid-race is a pretty special moment and a reminder of why mountain running is so addictive.
From there the race becomes about holding momentum as fatigue sets in. The descents are fast but require focus with tired legs, and the constant mix of climbing, ridgeline running and technical trail keeps you working the entire time. The course is challenging but incredibly scenic and feels like a true mountain adventure rather than just a race. Finishing in 5:36, it was a tough but deeply satisfying day out in the high country and easily one of the most spectacular trail runs in Victoria.
