Last updated: 22 August, 2025

Every year the build up to UTMB is huge. The excitement is on a different scale, much like the mountains of the area. The event itself goes for an entire week, from the 25th of August (just a few days from now) until the 31st, and in that time there are 9 different events that take place!

I was lucky enough to be there last year crewing Matthew Crehan, and there are so many amazing things that happen – but also, so many amazing things that you miss! Watching from home in Australia doesn’t make it any easier. While the live stream is truly incredible, it can be incredibly hard to keep track of everything that’s happening.

To make things easier, we’ve built this schedule for you, with all you need to know about what is happening when – in Chamonix Time, Australian Time, and even a couple of US Time Zones!

We’ve broken it down by race, and again by day, for your easy viewing. Enjoy!

“Special Moments, not to be missed” – by Majell Backhausen

Maj Backhausen UTMB 2015
Maj on his way to a 22nd place finish at UTMB in 2015, on his birthday!

We’re also fortunate enough to have insights on some other special moments not to miss from one of, if not the most UTMB aware runner in Australia, Majell Backhausen! Not only is he racing TDS this year (where he’s previously finished 6th) he’s also going to be jumping in the UTMB Live Stream commentary box himself.

You can read our pre-race interview with Majell, as well as many other Aussie’s, plus the ENTIRE start list of all the Australian’s who are racing in our blog here.

You can also see the Elite Runners Preview start lists for all the races at UTMB in our other blog here.

Majell is also a coach at Alpine Performance Run Coaching, one of the verified coaching groups on Rundais.

Courmayeur Aid Station

โ ”Courmayeur Aid station, the second aid station runners receive crewing, so it is awesome to see how they work with their crew and quickly they go in and out of this aid station and they are moving in the early hours of the morning, some crazy stats exist from this location, like the past 5 winners have all arrived here in first place, even though it is only 83.5km into the race (need to fact check this). But a great moment to see in the race. This year they will also have directional microphones to capture the conversation between crew and runner. This is also a very common place for runners to drop.”

โ La Flรฉgรจre

“La Flรฉgรจre is the final aid station and only 7km from the finish. Crowds here for the leaders are again, huge and wild. There is only one downhill back to Chamonix from here and if the leader is clear, it is certainly a ‘victory lap’ of sorts. But a very cool moment because there is not much standing in the way of finishing UTMB from this point. Although, podiums spots have changed on this section before.”
