Enter just this race, or enter the series and receive a discount. Maroondah Reservoir Park is situated in the beautiful Yarra Ranges National Park. Entrance is from the Maroondah Hwy, about 3km east of Healesville. Maroondah features gardens with stands of native and exotic trees, native animals and birds and walking tracks. Its playground, lawns and cool summer shade make it a popular picnic destination in warmer months. April brings the awesome colours of autumn and provides the perfect backdrop for supporters to have a picnic or BBQ while they wait for their competitors! Location: Maroondah Reservoir Park, Yarra Ranges National Park, Healesville, VictoriaKick off the Trailsplus Mountain Series with the Maroondah Dam Trail Run! This event takes place in the stunning natural beauty of Maroondah Reservoir Park, located in the foothills of the Yarra Ranges. Featuring distances for all abilities — 10km, 21km, 30km, 42km, and 50km — the event is ideal for beginners, seasoned trail runners, and ultra enthusiasts alike.

Race Day Schedule
- Start Times: Start times for each distance will be announced closer to the event date.
- Cut-off: All runners must complete their race by 4:00 PM.
Course Overview
General Description
The course takes runners through the breathtaking Yarra Ranges National Park, where you’ll encounter lush forests, vibrant autumn foliage, and native wildlife. The trails are diverse, with a mix of technical single tracks, wide fire trails, and some steep ascents and descents. The event is designed to challenge participants while showcasing the beauty of the region.
- Key Highlights:
- Mt St Leonard: A steep ascent rewards runners with panoramic views, followed by a technical, rocky descent.
- Donnelley’s Weir Road Section: A 1km stretch shared with vehicles; runners must exercise caution.
- Autumn Colours: April brings spectacular autumn hues, making the run even more memorable.
Course Markings
- Red arrow signs on white backgrounds at intersections.
- Flour arrows on the ground.
- Pink and yellow ribbons in trees along the route.
Aid Stations
Aid stations will be located strategically along the course, offering water, electrolyte drinks, and basic snacks. Runners are required to carry their own reusable cup or bottle, as no paper cups will be provided.
Mandatory Gear
Mandatory items for 30km, 42km, and 50km runners:
- Mobile phone.
- Windproof/waterproof jacket (if advised based on weather).
- Compression bandage (strongly recommended).
All runners should carry:
- A water bottle or collapsible cup.
- Appropriate trail running shoes.
Presentations & Prizes
- All Finishers: Custom-designed medal.
- 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place: Trophies and prizes (must be present to collect).
- Spot Prizes: Awarded during post-race celebrations.
Stay after your race to enjoy the BBQ facilities, relax in the park, and celebrate the winners with fellow runners.
Parking
- Henderson Picnic Area Carpark: Ample parking available; overflow parking is 100m away.
- Please follow instructions from attendants and park responsibly to leave space for other park visitors.
Safety & Rules
- Trail Etiquette: Respect other trail users by signaling when passing and leaving no litter behind.
- Steep Sections: Take caution, particularly on the rocky descent from Mt St Leonard.
- Music Devices: Permitted with restrictions — remove earphones at aid stations, on technical trails, and on roads.
