Peaks and Trails

Peaks and Trails is a challenging trail running event, starting and finishing in the heart of picturesque Dunkeld. We are a community run event that is powered by a group of passionate local volunteers who love to showcase our town and give back to our community. The weekend offers something for all levels of trail enthusiast with 5 distance options. All distances include sections of the newly opened Grampians Peaks Trail and take in the beautiful southern Gariwerd (Grampians) landscape. The longer run options also include trails on privately owned land, normally inaccessible to the public. Runners will experience a range of landscapes and stunning postcard views on these trails surrounded by the four most southern peaks: Wurgarri (Mt Sturgeon), Bainggug (Piccaninny), Mud-Dadjug (Mt Abrupt) and Signal Peak.

Welcome to Peaks and Trails, a thrilling trail running event that will take your breath away amidst the majestic landscapes of Dunkeld. Powered by a dedicated team of local volunteers, we invite you to immerse yourself in the beauty of our town and support our vibrant community.

Event Highlights:

Distances: 6.4km, 13.5km, 20km, AGL 50km, Mud-Dadjug Challenge
Activities: Trail running, summiting peaks, experiencing diverse terrains

Distances & Terrain:

6.4km Trail Run: A scenic trail with gravel paths and river flats.
13.5km Trail Run: Varied terrain with a summit climb offering stunning views.
20km Trail Run: Challenges on private trails and Grampians Peaks Trail with breathtaking summit views.
AGL 50km Trail Run: For experienced trail runners, summiting the four southern peaks of Gariwerd.
Mud-Dadjug Challenge Trail Run: A rugged trail to challenge your limits, offering a taste of the main event.

Mandatory Gear & Entry Costs:

Entry fees range from $35 to $150 based on the chosen distance.
Mandatory gear required for certain distances.
Note: No strollers/prams allowed on the trails.
