City 2 Surf – The heartbeat of Sydney

On Sunday 10 August 2025, Hyde Park wakes before dawn to a rainbow of costumes and nervous smiles. A cannon booms, confetti whirls, and the City 2 Surf tidal wave rolls down William Street toward Bondi’s silver water. Fourteen kilometres later you’ll collect finish-line bling with sand between your toes, music pumping and the smell of salt in the air.

But the Voltaren City 2 Surf is more than a point-to-point run:

• World’s largest fun run – tens of thousands share one ribbon of road.
• 55 years strong – a Sydney rite of passage since 1970.
• $55 million (and counting) raised for charity – run with heart as well as legs.

How your City 2 Surf 14 km adventure unfolds

0 – 2 km – Hyde Park to Kings Cross Tunnel
Crowds roar, music echoes off skyscrapers, you surge downhill feeling invincible.

2 – 6 km – Rushcutters & Rose Bay foreshore
Palm trees, harbour glimpses, first selfie stop with the Opera House peeking behind masts.

6 – 7 km – Heartbreak Hill presented by AIA
It’s steep, noisy and utterly iconic. Conquer it for bragging rights (and a great shot of the Bridge from the top).

7 – 10 km – Vaucluse & ocean vistas
Bougainvillea over sandstone walls, sea spray in the air, legs finding rhythm again.

10 – 14 km – Military Road drop to Bondi
Breathtaking coastal views, one last turn at Curlewis Street, finish-chute energy like nowhere else. Medal, selfie, dip—done!
