About
Fruition Trail Club is for anyone keen to get outdoors and explore new trails across the Mornington Peninsula.
Words by Nath, Founder of Fruition Run Club
To keep things fresh, we rotate to a different trail every fortnight. Our weekend runs are relaxed and social, giving plenty of time to talk and enjoy the surroundings. Whether you’re an experienced runner or just getting started, we’d love to have you join us.
I recently started running trails with my two best mates, Ben and Jordy. They’re both far more experienced than me, and at first, without their guidance and navigation, I had no idea where I was meant to run. The trails can feel a little intimidating if you don’t know where you’re going… but jeez, it’s a good time when you do! That’s when the idea of a trail club sparked. We wanted to give anyone and everyone the chance to explore more of the Mornington Peninsula.
It’s easy to run around an aths track or along the road, checking your watch pace every minute, but that’s not the case on the trails. Your focus shifts to the surroundings and truly enjoying where you are. And it’s even better with like-minded people. For us, it’s simply about enjoying the trail we run and sharing a coffee together afterwards.
This trail club is perfect for anyone who wants to run somewhere new. We’re only new ourselves, but we had a great turnout of mixed ages, some people even travelled over an hour to join us, which was a highlight for sure! There’s no barrier to joining, we keep the pace comfortable and bunch together, so no one ends up running alone. I really hope this group can spark new friendships and give people a chance to feel part of something. There are so many awesome run clubs out there (the more the better of!), but this one’s unique because the location changes each time. The trails are endless on the Peninsula, and we plan to start with Devilbend, Red Hill, Arthurs Seat, and plenty more. Personally, Arthurs Seat is my favourite because the views are incredible, and you’ll be running alongside kangaroos for a fair chunk of it.
With a few homegrown events on the Mornington Peninsula, like Two Bays, we’re hoping to encourage people to sign up and build a training group so we can enter some events together. We’ve also tossed around some fun ideas like weekends away to hit trails farther afield, but for now, let’s keep it local. We truly live in a special part of the world.
As for the Fruition brand, it’s a fun way to share some of my creativity. And our caterpillar logo? It stands for a few things: evolving, coming to life, and yes, it’s a bug, which feels fitting because, as you can probably tell, we’ve well and truly caught the trail-running bug.
Cheers,
Nath
