Featuring a range of distances from a full marathon to a family-friendly 2km fun run, this event offers something for everyone. Run along a scenic two-lap course showcasing Hobart’s breathtaking waterfront, heritage landmarks, and vibrant cultural scene. The event also proudly supports Variety Tasmania, helping disadvantaged and disabled children across the state.

Event Lineup

Marathon (42.2km)

  • Start Time: 6:00 AM
  • Cut-off: 6 hours (12:00 PM)
  • Minimum Age: 17 years
  • Entry Fee:
    • Super Early Bird: $160 (until Dec 3, 2024)
    • Early Bird: $180 (Dec 4, 2024 – Jan 21, 2025)
    • Standard: $200 (Jan 22 – Mar 4, 2025)
    • Late: $220 (Mar 5 – Apr 5, 2025)

Course Highlights:
Run a two-lap course starting and finishing at Castray Esplanade. Enjoy Hobart’s iconic Constitution Dock and Derwent River, surrounded by pristine bushland and rugged mountain views. The vibrant on-course entertainment and cheering spectators make this a truly memorable experience.

  • Aid Stations: Every 3–4km, offering water, electrolytes, and special needs provisions at designated locations.
  • Prize Money:
    • 1st: $1,200
    • 2nd: $600
    • 3rd: $300
    • Performance Incentives: Up to $2,000 for finishing under specified times.
  • Age Group Awards: 1st place medals in all categories.

Half Marathon (21.1km)

  • Start Time: 6:00 AM
  • Cut-off: 3 hours (9:00 AM)
  • Minimum Age: 14 years
  • Entry Fee:

    • Late: $165

Course Highlights:
This one-lap course mirrors the marathon’s scenic route along Hobart’s waterfront. With a variety of terrains and plenty of spectator support, it’s a fantastic event for runners of all levels.

10km Mures Run

  • Start Time: 7:30 AM
  • Cut-off: 3 hours (10:30 AM)
  • Minimum Age: 11 years
  • Entry Fee:
    • Super Early Bird: $80
    • Early Bird: $90
    • Standard: $100
    • Late: $110

Course Highlights:
A fast and relatively flat loop ideal for beginners or those chasing a personal best. Experience highlights of the waterfront and picturesque streets of Hobart.

  • Aid Stations: Located at 2.7km, 4.8km, and 6.4km.

5km Crowne Plaza Run/Walk

  • Start Time: 9:30 AM
  • Cut-off: 2 hours 30 minutes (12:00 PM)
  • Minimum Age: 7 years
  • Entry Fee:
    • Super Early Bird: $50 / $40 (U18)
    • Early Bird: $55 / $45 (U18)
    • Standard: $60 / $50 (U18)
    • Late: $70 / $60 (U18)

Course Highlights:
Perfect for families, casual runners, or anyone looking to soak up the festival atmosphere. This scenic route takes participants along Franklin Wharf and the Derwent waterfront.

2km Fun Run & Walk

  • Start Time: 10:30 AM
  • Cut-off: N/A
  • Minimum Age: Open to all ages (children under 7 must be accompanied by an adult).

Course Highlights:
An inclusive event for families, parents with prams, and wheelchair participants, designed to introduce newcomers to the thrill of running.
