Join the sixth edition of Run the Tan—a spectacular event marking the transition from summer athletics to winter cross-country. Run alongside Olympians, celebrities, and everyday heroes, all united by a passion for supporting mental health. Whether you’re chasing your personal best or joining a team fun run, there’s truly something for everyone.
Iconic:
Experience Melbourne’s famed Tan Track, a must-run destination for any true runner. Known for its distinctive tan hue—whether from its natural color or its rich history as the “BoTANical Gardens” track—this course offers the rare chance to set an official time and create a personal legacy on one of Australia’s most celebrated circuits.

Designed for both locals and visitors, Run the Tan is centrally located in Melbourne, offering affordable entry along with free spectator access. Enjoy the convenience of a major city event and make a day of it by exploring Melbourne’s eclectic dining and entertainment scene.

Public Fun Run

Elite Showcase

Gear up for the ultimate battle of speed and strength in the Teams competition at Run the Tan 2026! It’s Team vs. Team, Club vs. Club, head-to-head, in a race for pride and glory. Date: Sunday, 26th April 2026
Location: Pillars of Wisdom, The Tan Track, Melbourne (junction of Olympic Boulevard and Alexandra Avenue)
Official Distance of Run the Tan:
One full lap of the iconic Tan Track – 3.827km
Race Schedule:
- 7:30am – 8:30am: Race BIB pick-up and same-day registrations
- 8:45am: Official Opening Ceremony
- 9:00am: Race Starts for each Sub Event (refer website for latest schedule)
- 12:15pm: Event Finishes (Course closes at 12:00pm)
Prize Money & Records:
Elite athletes compete for impressive prize money and a special bonus for breaking the all-time records. Check out the official Hall of Fame featuring record holders like Craig Mottram (10.08 for Top Male), Jessica Hull (11.31 for Top Female), and Michael Roeger (11.01 for Top Para).
